Worrall House

Proposals were prepared and developed for the construction of a new environmentally competent, 4 bedroom family home in Worrall on the outskirts of Sheffield.

A modern, open plan living / dining / kitchen area is proposed and located centrally within the house. The living area enjoys a two storey volume with a curved staircase and open landing leading behind the fireplace to the bedrooms beyond. The house sits comfortably within the sloping landscape, nestling with the rear to a series of mature trees on the boundary and opening out to a South facing garden and terrace area. With sustainability at the heart of it’s design, the house is timber framed and finished externally with render at the low level, timber cladding to the first floor area and a gently inclined zinc roof with shading area over the terrace.

Planning consent was achieved in January 2006 with no objections to the proposals raised either locally or with the planners. Detailed information has been produced for tender and a start on site is anticipated soon.
